Taking responsibility for education might mean that we need to allow each child to learn what it wants/needs at a given moment in time, a moment in its evolution. We, as adult providers, need, in that case, to individualise the education system whereby groups of children are formed around certain subjects, not divided by age or academic capacity. We will also need to build in a great deal of flexibility throughout the formative years, all the way up to the skills they will learn that will bring them a profession.
Any ideas as to what is required to achieve this? How can we overcome the practical obstacles in our way? How do we fit the system around the individual child instead of the child around the system?
