Being Heard
As consumers of the medical healthcare system we have been presented a glossy, individually based caring and most effective structure that will not let us down, that will never fail us. And that is how we wish it to be.
Not all of us have such smooth and satisfying experiences and it is difficult for us as a group, as society, to hear these messages. Beyond expressing our regret and pain we are most happy simply to continue with the system because we don't know what else to do. We fear that we may throw the baby out with the bathwater. However, no matter how badly we would want it to be all nice and shiny, the reality does include some darker moments. Only by listening and learning from those experiences can we create a system that works for more people, in more circumstances, whilst at the same time teaching us the realities of life. Here we give you the opportunity to first truly listen to the stories people tell about their experiences. Here we don't judge the stories; we simply listen.
Here we give you the opportunity to learn more about what has happened to you and how you can continue your life as a more learned person. Comprehending what happened and how it can help you to grow, as a human being and as a society, is ensuring that, at least, something good can come from all the suffering.
We invite you to submit your stories. One person tells a story and another is listening.
